their very definition, terrorists are people and organizations bent
on instilling unconscionable fear and destruction in innocent
strangers; these are people who will stop at nothing to hurt
Americans. These killers represent a very dark path in the ongoing
history of mankind. By definition, health care facilities are places
where helpless and unsuspecting human beings gather to receive
healing care. The hospital is probably the most identifiable symbol
of health care, and embodies a path of hope, redemption and love. It
is by the very grace of God that these two paths, these lines in the
shifting sands of human endeavor, have not yet openly crossed in a
way that screams ‘terror’ and evokes public panic. Sadly, this
intersection is only a matter of time....
